Description
Its name is said to recall a horse that wandered off and led a lama to this ridge. Tawang Monastery, India’s largest, still stands where it stopped — white walls and golden roofs spread along a mountainside in western Arunachal Pradesh, nearly 3,000 metres up.
This minimalist watercolour artwork shows the monastery emerging from cloud, with a lone monk in maroon robes walking the road below. Soft greys, a touch of gold and plenty of white space make it a serene piece for a living room, bedroom, study or office.
A peaceful piece of Arunachal Pradesh for your wall.
